Privacy Policy

In plain English:

ShopSanity organizes the shopping information in your email. To do that, we have to collect and store your email address and your shopping emails. We never collect your email password.  We do not access personal emails or commercial emails that are unrelated to order confirmations, shipping notices, receipts, or promotions.  We access and store information in a secure, private way, and the only reason we access anything is to make the service work.  We access these emails after you signup and, to make a better and faster user experience, we continue to access shopping emails whether or not you login to ShopSanity until you delete your ShopSanity account or revoke access to ShopSanity through Google or Yahoo (details on how to do that are below).  Only our software accesses these emails, they are not reviewed by humans, but if you send us an email asking us to add a receipt, a human will review it.

We also suggest products and offer shopper scores based on the aggregate purchases in our system.  Any of your information used in these services is entirely anonymous and does not include your name or address.  We won’t sell your personal data or ever disclose it to anyone else without your express permission.  If we get acquired, the company that acquires us will have the data and be subject to this same privacy policy.  We may use your data to market to you and make the service better.  An example of this would be a promotion we send to all consumers who purchased something at Gap.

You can delete your account at any time by logging in, going to the account page, and requesting to delete your account. When we delete your account, all information is removed from our system.  You can remove our access to Gmail by clicking here and revoking access to Shopsanity.   (Please note that Gmail puts two entries on this page – one is for signing in to ShopSanity, the other is for access to Gmail.)  You can remove our access to  Yahoo Mail by clicking here and revoking access to Shopsanity.  When you revoke access, we do not get a notification, so if you’d also like to delete your Shopsanity account, you’ll need to email us at info@shopsanity.com.

On our blog, we use a service called ShareThis to enable simple social sharing of our posts.  ShareThis uses a cookie to track sites people visit.  We do not use this data at ShopSanity – we only use the service to make our blog simpler to manage.  To read the ShareThis privacy policy and opt out of their system, click here.
